The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the morning brightness, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
