In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
