We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
