۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
