The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a great day 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 They will suffer the heat of fire 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A Register inscribed. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss. 24 They are given to drink of a pure wine, sealed, 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
