The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And no trifle. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
