The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
