Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a high garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
