The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Verily those who believed and worked righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
