Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 We glorify God." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
