He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him you give attention. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 Veiled in darkness, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
