And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
