Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
