The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
