In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
