And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" 11 He answered: "O my Sustainer! Behold, I fear that they will give me the lie, 12 "And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Harun (Aaron) (to come along with me). 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
