The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
