Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
