By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
