Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
