S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Or have they the treasuries of thy Lord's mercy, the All-mighty, the All-giving? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and [the tribe of] 'Aad and Pharaoh, the owner of stakes, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
