The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
