Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
