The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
