This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
