Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In an elevated garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
