Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 separating one from another, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed time? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
