The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
