Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until death approached us". 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
