And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 So do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
