Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
