Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
