The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
