The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite - give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
