The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sun and his early morning splendour, 1 and by the moon when she follows him, 2 by the day when it brightens the earth, 3 by the night, when it envelops it! 4 The heavens and its architecture, 5 And by oath of the earth and by oath of Him Who spread it. 6 and by the soul and that (Power) which designed it 7 And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 10 The Thamud tribe rejected the truth because of their arrogance, 11 What time the greatest wretch of them rose up. 12 Then the apostle of Allah said unto them: beware of the she-camel of Allah and her drink. 13 But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). 14 God is not afraid of the result of what He had decreed. 15
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
