Ta-Sin-Mim [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings] 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 We shall narrate to you some of the story of Moses and Pharaoh, with truth, for people who would believe. 3 Indeed Pharaoh transgressed in the land and divided its people into sections. One group of them he humiliated, and slew their sons and spared their daughters. Truly he was among the mischief-makers. 4 And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors 5 And to establish them in the earth, and to show Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts that which they feared from them. 6 And We inspired the mother of Moses, saying: Suckle him and, when thou fearest for him, then cast him into the river and fear not nor grieve. Lo! We shall bring him back unto thee and shall make him (one) of Our messengers. 7 And Firon's family took him up that he might be an enemy and a grief for them; surely Firon and Haman and their hosts were wrongdoers. 8 Said Pharaoh's wife, 'He will be a comfort to me and thee. Slay him not; perchance he will profit us, or we will take him for a son.' And they were not aware. 9 And the heart of the mother of Moses became void, and she would have betrayed him if We had not fortified her heart, that she might be of the believers. 10 She told the sister of Moses: "Follow him." So she kept watch over him unperceived (by the enemies). 11 ۞ And We had already forbidden suckle-nurses for him, so she said, “Shall I show you a household that will nurse this child of yours, and they are his well-wishers?” 12 So We returned him to his mother in order to soothe her eyes and not grieve, and to know that Allah’s promise is true – but most people do not know. 13
