Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
