Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Yes certainly, you will soon realise! 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
