'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 and ease my task for me, 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
