O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and wives of the believers that they should draw over themselves some of their outer garments [when in public], so as to be recognized and not harmed. God is most forgiving and most merciful. 59 ۞ If the hypocrites, those whose hearts are sick and those who encourage the spread of evil in the city, will not desist, We shall arouse you against them and they will only be allowed to be your neighbors for a short while. 60 bereft of God's grace, they shall be seized wherever they may be found, and slain one and all. 61 Such has been God's way with those who [sinned in like manner and] passed away aforetime - and never wilt thou find any change in God's way! 62 People ask you regarding the Last Day; proclaim, “Its knowledge is only with Allah; and what do you know, the Last Day may really be near!” 63 Verily Allah hath cursed the infidels, and hath gotten ready for them a Blaze. 64 Wherein they will abide for ever. They will find (then) no protecting friend nor helper. 65 On that Day when their faces shall be turned around in the Fire, they will say: “Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger.” 66 They will say, "Lord, we obeyed our chiefs and elders and they caused us to go astray. 67 Our Lord, give them chastisement twofold, and curse them with a mighty curse!' 68
