And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed. 29 We gave David Solomon. He was an excellent servant who always turned to God. 30 Recall what time there were presented unto him, at eventide, coursers swift-footed. 31 He said: verily I have loved the love of earthly good above the remembrance of my Lord until the sun hath disappeared behind the veil. 32 "Bring them back unto me!" - and would [lovingly] stroke their legs and their necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He prayed, "Lord forgive me! Grant me such power as no one after me will have -- You are the Most Generous Provider." 35 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed, 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 “This is Our bestowal. So give or withhold as you wish without account.” 39 And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. 40
