The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 Your companion did not err, nor did he go astray. 2 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. 3 This is naught but a revelation revealed, 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 then came down close 8 Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, 9 So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. 10 The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is Paradise. 15 When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Certainly he saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 and your third idol al-Manat (whom you considered as God's daughters)? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 that, lo and behold, is an unfair division! 22 They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
