The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
