Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
