The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
