And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 "If ye obey a man like yourselves, behold, it is certain ye will be lost. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 He is just a man who invents a lie about God; we cannot believe in him." 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 Allah said: after a little while they will become regretful. 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 for, indeed, We had vouchsafed revelation unto Moses in order that they might find the right way. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
