AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 Hell, where they will be roasted. An evil place to dwell! 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 and other similar to it, joined together. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
