The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
