Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
