The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
